The Kraft-paper–looking banner is a color sample from the tire gumwall, the yellow is left over from a previous design and didn’t suck so I didn’t change it, and the author names were taking up too much space, so I made the first names skinny and plumped up the surnames for contrast.
Seriously, really good art leaves you very little to do but try not to step all over it. It’s kind of like casting a role: If you cast the right actor, there’s not a lot of direction you need to give.
